The proposed exchange programme from UCLan to Lancaster University (10/2016-12/2016) will significantly contribute to the successful completion of my PhD in various ways. To begin with, given the interdisciplinary nature of the project I am working on integrating Linguistics and Public Health, there would be no better place to move than Linguistics at Lancaster (ranked 4th in the UK and 13th in the world). The department offers postgraduate modules on 'discourse analysis' and 'pragmatics' (not available at UCLan) that I am keen to attend as they will inform/guide the methodological approach of my work.
